In a world perceived as increasingly unstable and unpredictable, the notion of shelter takes on renewed significance. Huéspedes del Tiempo, a second chapter to Albergue Transitorio, brings together a group of artists whose works imagine spaces of protection—both material and emotional—while questioning what deserves to be preserved for the future.
The exhibition presents works in diverse formats and materialities that coexist under a shared conceptual roof. Like strangers seeking refuge, the pieces enter into dialogue, revealing shared concerns around climate change, gender roles, identity, memory, and contemporary forms of consumption.
Several works address the environmental crisis and its consequences, while others reflect on femininity, care, and creation as persistent forces. Identity emerges as a central theme through painting, sculpture, textile practices, and video, questioning the tension between individuality and mass production.
By engaging with remnants of the past, consumer culture, and symbolic archeologies of the present, the exhibition invites viewers to reflect on the fragile boundaries between what we protect, what we discard, and what we choose to remember.
Huéspedes del Tiempo proposes art as a space of encounter and critical reflection—an intellectual and emotional refuge from which to reconsider our relationship with the world we inhabit
